Recording Studio

After years of producing, arranging, recording, mixing and mastering in a variety of studios, Dori decided to design a 1,000 square-foot customized studio from the ground up.  With meticulous attention to detail that leveraged a lifetime spent in recording studios, he took an “acoustics first” approach and built a studio for highly discerning artists and musicians. He placed special emphasis on ergonomics to create a comfortable environment for all artists.

The result is a studio flexible enough to cover a wide variety of musical and production needs, with high-end recording equipment and systems that capture every nuance and retain maximum fidelity throughout the entire recording process.

The studio is located in Studio City, CA, and can accommodate ensembles of up to approximately twenty musicians, and is an excellent location for video shoots. It has become the studio of choice for discerning musicians.

The piano is a top-of-the-line, concert grade 7′ 6″ grand piano by Kawai.  It has been fine tuned to provide the ultimate tone, touch and consistency.

The piano is equipped with a high-end Earthworks PM40 PianoMic system,  comprised of two omnidirectional microphones specifically designed for a piano’s sound field.  Together, they capture every nuance with perfect balance, and deliver a pristine stereo image.  And when the lid is closed, the PM40 system provides excellent separation between piano and vocals — ideal for singers who accompany themselves.

The studio is equipped with:

  • Earthworks microphones
  • Crane Song equipment designed by David Hill
  • Millennia Media pre-amps
  • Meyer Sound HD-1 high definition monitors
