Sing It, Don't Wing It
Presenting the Sing It, Don't Wing It series of Zoom workshops.
Join four other singers and how to harness your musicianship to:
- make an impact with your singing from your very first note — gain the listener’s trust.
- leave no note behind — make every note count.
- understand and respect the melody and the song.
- become confident with your musical storytelling.
In short, learn how to SING IT, DON’T WING IT.
Format:
- Five singers participating, plus auditors
- The workshop will be conducted via a secure Zoom meeting
- Two-and-a-half hour workshop
Dates and Times
Sign up for one or several of the following sessions, as a participant or an auditor.
- Sunday May 17, 1 – 3:30pm
- Saturday May 23, 1 – 3:30pm (reserved for first-timers)
- Sunday May 24, 12 noon – 2:30pm (2 spots left)
What to expect as a participant
Each participant will get approximately 25 minutes of one-on-one instruction. Come with 2-3 jazz or pop standards to choose from. You can sing with Dori live in the workshop, or with a pre-recorded track or an iRealPro track.
After the workshop, you’ll get a link to a video recording of the entire session.
Equipment you need: Laptop, desktop, tablet or phone is needed. A microphone is ideal but not required. After you sign up, we’ll follow up to optimize your setup with whatever you have. Whatever you have, we’ll make it work!
What to expect as an observer
Observe Dori and the five participants as a member of the Zoom meeting. As an observer, your video will be turned off and your mic will be muted. Observers are encouraged to interact in the Zoom chat, and post questions and comments. Time permitting, questions will be answered at the end during a short Q&A.
Cost:
- $60 for participants
- Observers are encouraged to tip whatever they can
